Save DOA - the state arts funding agency supporting established arts institutions, nurture both emerging arts organizations and our overall cultural economy.

Several weeks ago the House Appropriations Committee wisely RESTORED funding for Decentralized Arts Funding and Statewide Arts Funding grants in the state budget. The full House will start debating HB1, the budget, tomorrow (Thurs, May 14), and we need to make sure our legislators know we want the funding to STAY in the budget.

Please take a moment to contact your representatives and urge them to SUPPORT THE AMENDMENT RESTORING ARTS FUNDING. Visit http://www.lparts.org/ (on the lower left), enter your zip code into the box marked "Write Your Legislators" and follow the directions from there. It only takes a moment. If you know any of the representatives, feel free to add a personal note such as "the arts organizations in our parish need your support through your vote to approve the House Appropriations Committee Amendment restoring Decentralized Arts Funding and Statewide Grant Programs to the CRT budget."
